So, I have the day off to celebrate the wife’s 30th birthday, and with having Monday off as well, I’m probably going to play around with the 1.07 beta release of sweetcron on a subdomain. If I’m impressed with it, I’ll probably be working on converting everything over and/or getting mad at my webhost (I’m hoping none of the neat things about sweetcron are blocked, but it’s possible).
The one issue I see is that I’ll need to click the button on my webhost control panel to go from php4 to php5, and I’m not sure what, if anything, that will break with the current version of WP I have running. There appears to be a work around for using sweetcron on php4, but I’ll have to wait and see.
Edit: you can go see it over at http://sctest.sean-ward.com/
The current issue I have is: fsockopen error: Permission denied
That’s what I get when I try to add a feed, meaning it is being blocked by by host’s firewall, which requires a trouble ticket for each and every feed I want to set up.
Ugh. It might be time to look for a new webhost.
