I can’t get a Wii because I have one

So, a co-worker’s wife was able to purchase a Wii from Best Buy today.  The moment I found out, I went up to buy one.  I get there, and, while talking to the same guy (I believe), I’m told that those are for the advertisement that has been put out for Sunday, and as a result, I cannot buy one until then.  They open at 8:00 AM on Sunday, and hand out tickets about an hour before hand.  However, some people will probably show up around 2:00 AM.  Crap on that.

Here’s a list of why I didn’t get a Wii:

  • I did not wear a V-cut shirt
  • I wore a wedding ring
  • I have an X and Y chromosome set instead of two Xs

So there you have it.  I’ll continue to try and find one, meanwhile my disdain for Best Buy grows by a bit more.

I would’ve spoken with the store manager if that happened. No store keeps items in stock on the shelves until a certain day. If they’re out in the open, they’re for sale.

I got mine after using the Wii Seeker (which no longer exists in the same format it did when I used it). I found out a bunch of stores were getting them in one Sunday morning, woke up early, made a plan of which ones to try in which order and got in line at a Target at 6am (they opened at 7). After half an hour of standing out in the 14 degree weather, they gave us numbered tickets so we could sit in our cars. When they opened, they called us by number (they had about 50 of them that day). For kicks, I drove by Best Buy next door, which opened a couple hours later and saw a line of like 10 people. Told them that Target had 50 in stock and only about 25 people were in line. No one wanted to lose their spot.
